what the pilots report until now ...
FEEDBACK TO THE WILDCAT
In particular the female pilots are inspired by the WILDCAT XS. And because we put a lof of passion in our small sizes, this particularly pleases us. So much that we want to share the feedback here with you.
... from the taming of the wildcat
Hello, dear ICARO - team,
today I have waited nearly 5 hours, until I could take off (west impact on a north start place!). The wind was rather strong (a lot more than 15 km/h) and the thermals were quite bumpy out there. What should I say? The kitten remained well-behaved with me - in spite of an asymmetric collaps which I had to open a little with the brakes. In spite of the unfavourable conditions I had all the time the feeling that the glider is with me. I have properly felt fine under it! And I will get used to the fact that I must fly the Wildcat more actively than my old Bright surely fast. Today with the Bright I would have had, in any case, quite bad maps ...
Shortly said, I am glad that I have bought a pig in a poke literally! Many thanks for the great recommendation!
Happy landings! Yvonne
... many thanks once more for the borrowing of the WILDCAT XS
Hello Vera,
as a thank-you I would like to give you feedback to the glider. I fly since 2005 and have made 420 flights since then. Best I fly short distances. Since 2009 I fly an Advance Sigma 7.
To the Wildcat: I can confirm many statements from your brochure. I felt the handling in flight very much well-balanced, i.e. rolling, pitch movements, spiralling can be flown with moderate brake application. On Wednesday the thermals were very weak and one had to fly many, many curves before reaching the base. While thermalling with the Wildcat I did not need to correct nor to adjust the bank chosen in the beginning. The wing simply flies in the same inclination. This is how it should be.
Positively are to me the Big Ears and accelerating. Big Ears are easy to pull and very calm to fly. In addition the smooth speed system, this is first-class. As a side effect the Big Ears need some time to re-inflate. But this is a taste thing and for me personally not so important ... (ann: shortened)
All together I find the Wildcat as an interesting wing for everybody who would like to fly cross-country. ... I can also imagine that I recommend airman collegues the Wildcat.
Many greetings, Anke
... impressing performance whilst thermalling
I can tell you that when I testflew the Wildcat past 2 weekends - I was
really impressed by the performance of it when thermaling...almost
always on top =) Being somewhat light in it, but still no signs of
deflations.
Take care, Torbjörn
