PILOT'S FEEDBACK TO TWICE

The first prototype of TWICE was originally not intended for serial production, but as a wing to experiment with. Even though this prototype was uncompromisingly trimmed for performance and handling, we were positively surprised by its stability and behaviour in extreme situations. We only had to make minor adjustments before we took it to the LTF, where it passed all tests immediately and with best results. Thanks to its good natured stall and negative behaviour, TWICE is also suitable for flight instructors who want to practise these manoeuvres over water.

Flying with my old tandem and with any others I tried out was quite tiring. TWICE is different. At last I can fly thermals as with a solo wing and thanks to its amazing performance, I can actually pass out most other solo wings. If I have to descend quickly without putting my passenger through the paces of a SAT or spiral dive, I can use the gentle B-stall. I find the trimmers practical. I can accelerate as needs be and the trimmers also enable me to control speed – according to the weight of the passenger – also handling and start behaviour.
